Our Flutes and Education

We are committed to providing solid music education for our members and bringing education to the community through our performances. Part of that process is providing the opportunity for our members to play on "specialty" flutes for which they may not readily have access to play. The variety of flutes Flutes Unlimited plays are:

Picccolo

The piccolo is 1 octave higher than than the concert C flute
E Flat
The E-flat flute sounds 1½ steps above the written note and the three-octave range is from the E-flat just above middle C to the E-flat three octaves above that.
C Flute

The 'C' flute, or concert flute, is the flute with which most people are familiar. Most students learn to play on this flute.
Alto Flute

The alto flute is in the key of G, pitched one fourth octave lower than the C flute.
Bass Flute

The bass flute is pitched a full octave lower than the C flute.
Contrabass Flute
The contrabass flute is pitched two octaves lower then the C flute.
